Organization
Teaching at the École Normale Supérieure is based on research and individual tutoring of students by researchers, in an environment of intellectual freedom.
At the master level, the Biology Department provides a large theoretical teaching, based on the research work carried out by the laboratories of different Departments, and early practical training, through internships in excellent labs in France and abroad.
Courses are also offered outside of the major discipline. Indeed, the organization of the curriculum favours multidisciplinarity and international exchanges.
During the last 20 years, the Biology Department has gained international visibility through the excellence of its research.
Numerous alumni have become recognized leaders in their field.
